Moseka Action Project:

Family Empowerment Program (FEP)

Moseka works to lift families of sponsored children out of poverty and transform their communities through their Family Empowerment Program.

Through FEP, victimized women will receive training in business literacy, health, democracy, leadership and conflict resolution. Each woman is allocated a one-time grant to help her achieve her business, budgeting and financial goals to maintain a business and household independently.

FEP Students are not alone in this process of overcoming poverty and stigma, but are joined by a solidarity group. Working in a solidarity group helps significantly heal the stigma of victim survivors. Our hope is that people in the community will no longer see them as women blemished by sexual violence or poverty, but as women who contribute to the economic development of their village. This change of attitude and perception in the community provides victimized women with hope, dignity, empowerment and creates cohesion in society
